Patna Literary Festival was established only a few years ago but it has created a niche for itself in the literary circle of the country. A few literature lovers like Khurshid Ahmad and Faizan Ahmad formed this literary body under the leadership of Dr A A Hai, who is not only a well known surgeon but also has deep sense and love for literature and poetry, with an aim to revive the art, culture and literature of Bihar and particularly Patna once also named Azimabad and which was once a hub of literary activities. It was in this Azimabad that a mushaira was held for five consecutive nights.
Bihar produced many famous Hindi and Urdu poets who earned national recognition like Shaad Azimabadi, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Jamil Mazhari, Gopal Singh Nepali, Kalim Ajiz and Satya Narayan to name a few.
PLF is organising series of literary events and also held various online programmes on art and literature during the lockdown period .
Under the PLF, an interactive session was devised under the name of Rubaru where one or two poets recite their poems and they are engaged in dialogue by a moderator.
So far six Rubaru events have been held involving famous poets like Manoj Muntashir, A M Turaz, Alok Srivastava, Shabina Adeeb, Azm Shakiri, Sapna Moolchandani etc and these interactive sessions have been liked and praised by the people.
